Cougar Takeover in our Nation's Capital
The College of Charleston Women's Basketball Team is Ready to Make School History
The College of Charleston women’s basketball team is ready to make some noise in the 2025 CAA Tournament.
They aren’t just showing up to CareFirst Arena in D.C.—they’re coming to take over. After a season filled with statement wins, All-CAA selections, and a relentless hunger for success, the Cougars are primed and ready to make a deep run.
Led by CAA Player of the Year Taryn Barbot, she has been must-watch television every time she steps on the hardwood. Averaging 16.6 PPG, 7.1 RPG, and 2.5 APG, she was quite literally a box score bully, impacting the game in a multitude of ways.
She was joined by her twin sister, Taylor Barbot, who earned Third-Team All-CAA honors. Taylor, who averaged 12.8 PPG and 3.8 RPG, helped take a lot of the scoring pressure off her sister. Together, these two are absolute buckets, and their Instagram handles tell the story perfectly—they are truly the "Twin Tornadoes!"
The Cougars’ star power is matched by a dynamic mix of seasoned veterans and rising stars. This squad has proven they can outshoot, out-hustle, and outplay anyone in their path. Their high-energy style, suffocating defense, and relentless full-court press have made them one of the most dangerous teams in the field.
Coach Robin Harmony has instilled a fearless mentality in this group, and they’ve embraced it with open arms. Whether it’s lighting it up from beyond the arc, dominating the paint with Lara Rohkohl, or turning defense into instant offense, the Cougars have all the tools to make history.
Charleston fans, get ready. This team isn’t satisfied with just an appearance—they’re here to make a damn statement. The tournament stage is set, and the Cougars are ready to pounce. Let the madness begin.
